It should come as no surprise that I've decided to start writing a blog. Why, might you ask? Well, I've been toying with the idea for a while, and after studying about blogging in my media literacy class and reading the blogs of some of my peers, I realized it would be a creative outlet to discuss my life. I don't intend for this to be a diary, but rather focus on specific moments in my life and the feelings/reactions/calls to action that these situations might evoke.
I was thinking of choosing the name "The Incandescent Existence", but I quickly realized that I would likely contradict that title in most of my blogs, since the instances that typically evoke strong emotion in me are quite the opposite of luminous, though they may be illuminating and could potentially clarify my meaning of life. Instead, I opted for the title "My Revolting Reality", because this blog will likely be discussing those revolting or repulsive instances in life that are sometimes humorous, often times infuriating, and many times irritating.
Right now, what is irritating is that I have to go to a night class where we do absolutely nothing. This would be the aforementioned Media Literacy class, which, because it's dealing with literacy in the media, should probably instead be offered as an online course. What is nice about it is that there's really not a lot of work, but sitting there for two and a half hours talking to the professor about unrelated topics makes people who are chronically hungry angry. I never get irritated with my professor, though. He's a wonderful man, probably in his late 60s, who once made breakfast for my classmates and me many years ago when I was in his wife's class. A chronically hungry person never forgets those people who've fed her. Also, it's like going to class and having engaging conversations with your grandpa. I like the guy, but over two hours of bullshitting can irritate anyone.
But, off I go. Then, home to shower and watch TV and likely do no homework.
